Dr. Satyapakash Ray Choudhury is a qualified and renowned HBP & GI Surgeon in Surgical Gastroenterology with immense experience.
Dr. Satyaprakash Ray Choudhury completed his MBBS (2007) from MKCG Berhampur. He has done his MS in General Surgery from PGIMS, Rohtak in 2013. He has done his M.Ch. in Surgical Gastroenterology from JIPMER, Puducherry in the year 2018 and has done Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeries from IAGES.
Dr. Satyaprakash Ray Choudhury being an eminent Surgeon started his career as a senior resident in for approximately 2 years, performing more than 100 surgeries independently.
He has completed his 3 years’ tenure as M.Ch resident in Department of Surgical Gastroenterology in January 2019 and assisted more than 300 surgeries during this period, which included major Hepatobiliary Surgeries, Colorectal Surgeries, esophagostomies, gastric surgeries, bariatric surgeries, advanced laparoscopic surgeries and Robotic surgeries. He performed more than 50 major surgeries independently including Hepatectomy, Pancreatoduodenectomy, Biliary surgeries, gastrectomy, laparoscopic hemicolectomy, esophageal mobilization. I also have assisted 5 liver transplantations (DDLT) including the donor and recipient side in JIPMER. He was also involved in OPD, ward and ICU patient management, and the decision making.
He is at present associated with Utkal Hospital and has worked as Associate Professor in the Department of Surgical Gastroenterology, Hepatopancreatobiliary and Liver transplantation in Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar and performed thousands of surgeries relating to both cancerous and noncancerous conditions of gastrointestinal tract and liver- pancreas-bile duct.
His special interest is in Hepato-pancreatico-biliary surgeries, which he performed more than 500 cases till now, He was also associated with two liver transplantations done till now in IMS and SUM Hospital.
He aims to establish his career in Minimal invasive (Robotic) HPB surgery and Liver Transplantation.
